"Contemplation"

It’s been a year-and-a-half since we moved in and I’m just now getting around to painting poor Haley’s bedroom! I wanted a nice grey-toned, neutral color that would compliment her fabulous vintage (circa 1966) yellow faux bamboo bedroom set.
The previous homeowners chose a very loud, greenish-yellow color that (in my opinion) was not appropriate for an area meant for rest. Not to mention, it was definitely not working with the yellow furniture that Haley refused to let me paint.
I think we made the right choice with Behr’s “Contemplation”. Just a hint of blue and looks amazing with ALL of the fun bright colors we plan to use in the fabric and accessories.
Can’t wait to show you what we have planned!

Pinterest: A Love/Hate Relationship and a Goal

I love Pinterest and it's bazillion fabulous project ideas that I MUST try! But sometimes it almost puts me into an overwhelmed state of anxiety, and by the time I'm done scouring the pics and blogs, I'm just too tired and confused to actually START any of these projects! So as a friendly reminder to myself (to stay on track) I chalked my kitchen cabinet, "less talking more doing".
I've decided to begin with Haley's room. This weekend, I WILL get started and paint her bedroom. Here are the inspiration rooms for the wall color.

A Forgotten Favorite

I recently discovered that Max LOVES broccoli...yes wierd choice for a two-year-old. He pulled a bag out of the freezer and followed me around with it until I agreed to serve it to him for lunch. I decided to throw on a slice of American (for good measure) and it occured to me that I hadn't had one of my favorite cheesy comfort foods in several years...Chicken & Broccoli Rice Casserole! I found a few recipes on the internet and made some adjustments. It was sooooo yummy the day I made it and even better the next. Here's the adjusted recipe, it makes about 8 servings.
Enjoy! Sylvia
