Sherry's Desk

So a couple of months ago, Sherry and I went to this crazy estate sale in the old part of Frisco.  There was this old house on a large lot with several FILTHY barns and sheds piled full of moldy, smelly, charred...treasures.  It was wonderful!  We donned our rubber gloves and dug-in!  After four hours of scavenging we settled up with the estate liquidator for approximately $20 each!  Lots of cool vintage stuff under the muck, most just needing a good scrub.  Sherry brought home "the deal of the day" this go round, a little desk for $10.

At first glance, it looked to be irreparable, but it was well-built and still perfectly sturdy.  The knobs were really big and cool and the drawers each had a different name scratched into the surface.  Maybe each of the previous owner's family members had their own drawer?

Ta Da!  A little Annie Sloan Graphite, slight distressing, a good waxing and good as new!  A labor of love for Sherry to thank her for hauling me and all my "treasures" in her truck.   The best part, finally got my own truck and...this was my FIRST delivery!  Yay, Thanks Sherry!

French Inspired Blue Bed

The bed in it's original state was actually really pretty to begin with but...it was dinged and dented, some of the trim was coming off so it needed some TLC and a good paint job.

When I first saw her, I fell in love with her pretty carved details...
Two coats of Annie Sloan's "Duck Egg", a little "French Linen", some light & dark wax, gold highlights and here she is today...Looks like she came straight out of a French Boudoir?  I think so!

Love the gold accents....So Pretty!
